The other night from about 2:30 to 4:00 am, I decided it would be a great idea to go through old photos on my hard drive. Looking at some of them was a bit painful (it always is when you see yourself as some awkward middle schooler in braces still, etc), but some of it was rather nice. I re-discovered some gems:
Upon picking up my portfolio this morning, I had a nice and yes, nostalgic conversation about home in Lake Placid (as seen at dawn, above) with my photography professor from this past semester, Kyle. Having spent all of my summers and some winter weekends growing up here, it was good to see the smile of recognition on someone else's face when talking about cold lake water and hiking the 46. After discussing various sketchy bowling alleys, ice cream shops, and other local places, I truly feel at home here now after packing my car to the ceiling and driving up. There were still patches of snow, and white-capped mountains, but I sang the entire way up and hope tomorrow will bring me a summer job.
very very nice. how old was this shot?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Must be about three years old, it was definitely when I was in high school.
